Our wonderful Cora Shaw
Loving mother of Erica, Shaderqua, and Charlena Shaw, Norvel Mosby, Dorothy Hulon, and Keisha Williams. Mother in love of Christian Williams. Granddaughter of Idella Smith and L.G. Shaw (late). Caring daughter to Emmitt Sr. and Dorothy(late) Shaw. Dear sister of Emmitt Jr., Tracy(late), Tyrone, Michael, Larry, and Sherman (late) Shaw, Brenda Mckinnie-Shaw, Cindy Hunt, and Lavon Gardner. Sister in love of Michael Hunt, Jerry Mckinnie, and Sabrina Shaw. Beloved grandmother of Aaliyah, Aubreyah, A'jiyiah, and Chloe Shaw, Tyilor and Travis Curry Jr. Cassidy Randle, Tiara, Miracle and Eva Mosby, Jamarius Hulon and Cali WIlliams. Loyal Friend to Gwen and Michael Taylor.
Born on August 28, 1971 to Emmitt Sr. and Dorothy Shaw. She was raised in Mississippi and moved to Memphis, TN in her teenage years. She attended East High School.
Cora began working at Walmart in 2011, where she would remain for the next 10 years. While working at Walmart she was able to make long lasting friendships with a host of people. Customers loved her food and the employees loved her personality.
Mostly known as Christy, she was a fun soul. She was supportive of everyone, especially on Facebook. She genuinely wanted to see people happy. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a beautiful voice and would sing for her children and grandchildren.
Cora received her wings on August 17, 2021 at the tender age of 49.
Cora was a woman of strong faith as she would put everything in God's hands and advised others to do the same. She was a faithful member of Cummings Street Baptist Church.
Cora leaves behind a host of family and friends to cherish her memory.
