Obituary for Cornelia Johnson
Cornelia Johnson, 93, died July 12, 2018.
Cornelia L. Johnson was born October 9, 1924 in Shelby County, TN to the late Andrew and Lucille Porter. She accepted Christ early in age and was a faithful member of Cypress Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Cornelia graduated from Woodstock High School. She attended Shelby State Community College. She worked as a caregiver and housekeeper while attending Tyler Baptist College, where she graduated and became a Master Barber and worked at Porter’s Barber Shop until her health began to fail.
Cornelia met James H. Johnson and united in Holy matrimony. To this union eight children were born and one step daughter. Cornelia was preceded in death by her husband; James H. Johnson, son, James W. Johnson (Dyeann), stepdaughter, Lillian Boxley (George), grandson, Robert Wrightsil Jr.; granddaughter, Tammie Terry.
Cornelia departed life on July 12, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. resting the comfort of her home where she received her wings. Cornelia leaves to cherish her loving memories five daughters; Rannie Wrightsil (Robert), Cinda Johnson, Cecelia Turner (Marvin), Billie Johnson, Jackie Terry; two sons; Thomas Johnson, Craig Johnson (Lillie), sixteen grandchildren, thirty four great- grandchildren, thirteen great- great grandchildren; one sister; Lucille Porter, two brothers; Atha Porter, Joseph Porter, Joseph Porter (Joyce); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
