Obituary for Debra Jackson
Debra Jackson, 55, died April 8, 2019.
Debra Ann Jackson was born August 28, 1963 in Nesbit, Mississippi to Earnestine Johnson and the late Tommie L. Johnson, Sr.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Dean Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Restoration Revival Temple. She was a licensed Outreach Evangelist, under the late Bishop Thomas Brownlee, Sr. She served faithfully in the prison ministry and compassionately visited the sick in hospital. She was known as a prayer warrior who truly believed in the words and works of God.
She was a graduate of Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee in 1980. She graduated from Remington College as Valedictorian. She received her degree in Certified Nursing Assistant. She used her sills as a CNA at Baptist East Memorial Hospital as a Patient Care Assistant for many years.
Debra was preceded in death by her father, Tommie L. Johnson, Sr., brother, Timothy D. Johnson, grandmothers, Rosetta Reese and Bessie M. Johnson, grandfathers Willie Reese and Robert Johnson.
Debra was a strong, beautiful and loving mother. She believed in the biblical principle of “Spare the rod, spoil the child.”
One of her favorite scriptures that rested with her was Psalms 91: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the almighty…”
She leaves to cherish her memories, the loves of her life: her three sons, Jamyeleon Little (Latarsha), Damyrius Johnson and Eddie Jackson. She was a devoted grandmother to her two grandchildren, Emarian (G) Jackson and Janiya Little. She also leaves her mother, Earnestine Johnson, two brothers, Tommy Johnson (Prescilla), Rico Johnson (Cynthia), seven sisters, Dianne Catron, Karla Norwood (Craig), Karen Martin (Fred), Kesha Hayes(Tharren), Tiffany Jackson, Kimberly Hamilton and Tonya Johnson. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
