Obituary for Denise "Niecy" Lacey
Denise ‘Neicy’ Lacey was born on January 27, 1963 to the late Edward and Cathryn Parham. She quietly answered the Master’s call with a SMILE on her face Saturday, September 11, 2021.
“What’s Up Cuz,” was her favorite greeting to her sister/cousins and when she wanted to win the conversation she would tell us, “Shut yo face up!” That’s the Neicy we all knew and loved and she will truly be missed by her family and friends.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Hill MBC, under the leadership of the late Rev. U. L. Allen. Neicy attended Lester Jr. High where she ran track and was a cheerleader. She was a graduate of the East High Class of ’81 where she was also a member of the track team and she ran for Memphis Shelby Track Club during the summers.
Neicy or Neicy Pam as some of us used to call her was full of life and kept us laughing at the family gatherings. Our Sissy was beautiful inside and out and her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to mourn her passing two beautiful children, Keon Miller and Tyniscia Lacey of Memphis, TN. Two grandchildren, Braydin Williams and Kiersten Miller who she loved and adored. Also, to mourn her passing are her two brothers, Walter Jerome Crutcher (Billie) of North Carolina and Victor Lacey of Memphis, TN. A devoted a loving sister-n-law, Gemeal Lacey of Memphis, TN. Victor was her knight in shining armor and she was so proud of her “brother” when he would visit and cook her dinner. Other family members include her aunts Mary Bell Williamson, Rowena Thompson, Florence Hawkins and Margaret Blakney all of Memphis, TN. Her uncles, Roy L. Blakney, Lawrence H. Blakney, Thomas Parham and William Parham of Memphis, TN, three nieces, Erica Lacey, Kierra Lacey of Memphis, TN, Kentira Lacey of Houston, TX and two nephews Jerome Crutcher of Clarksdale, TN and Victor Lacey of Houston, TX., and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
One brother preceded her in death, Anthony ‘Tony’ Lacey.
