Obituary for Diane Coleman Barr
Diane Coleman Barr, died November 20, 2018.
On April 28, 1956 Diane Coleman Barr was born to the late William and Gladys Coleman, Sr. in Itta Bena, Mississippi. Mrs. Coleman attended Greenwood Public School in Greenwood, MS. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. Jesse and Annie Mae Gray. Then later converted her life over to the Islamic Faith in 1980. She married John Wesley Barr, September 1975 who preceded her death January 1977. Diane was a great light to all she knew and will be greatly missed. She was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed sewing, singing, reading, decorating, floral arrangements, computers, and mostly listening to Minister Louis Farrakhan.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four sons, Darren T. Coleman , Michael L. Barr, Jamie A. Barr, Jamal A. Barr all of Memphis, TN; three daughters, Tracey Barr-Griggs, Temeika K. Barr, Kameelah T. Barr all of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Eddie M. Coleman of Memphis, TN, Christopher Coleman and William Coleman, Los Angeles, CA; four sisters, Rose Mary Johnson of Memphis, TN, Bobbie Neal of Greenwood, MS, Lucy Coleman and Ellen Coleman of Los Angeles, CA; life partner, Lynn A. Hinton of Memphis, TN; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Three siblings preceded her in death, Roosevelt, Jesse, and William Coleman Jr.; two children: one son, Ghueka Barr, one daughter, Chandra Coleman.
