Erma Jean Maclin, 65, died December 1, 2018.
Mrs. Erma Maclin was born in Fayette County to the late Kizzie Ivy and late Finis Burrow on September 15, 1953. Erma accepted Christ at an early age as she joined Pleasant Grove MB Church.
Erma departed this life on December 1, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital Bartlett. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Benjamin K. Maclin Jr. and stepson, Bobby Maclin.
Erma was known as a woman who spoke her mind. But, she was also known as someone who had a generous soul and would do what she could to help someone in need. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, tending to her gardens or flowers, canning and cooking. She never mastered cooking for small groups because she always wanted to be able to offer someone a plate should they stop by.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Felicia Ivy Starks (Roy) of Covington, TN, Stephanie Stevenson (Vincent) of Memphis, TN, & Tiffany Maclin of Somerville, TN. She leaves behind one son: Travis Maclin (Sherita) of Somerville, TN. She also leaves behind three stepdaughters and three stepsons: Alvonzo (Anthony) Gaines, Christine Merriweather, Latrice Maclin, Kenneth (Deborah) Bailey, Floyd Maclin and Wallace (Brenda) Maclin. She leaves behind three sisters: Mary Holmes, Nancy Henderson & Debbie Seay. She leaves behind two brothers: Curtis Ivy & JW Ivy. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and in-laws to carry on her memory.
