Obituaries
Felecia Sharron Witherspoon Harrison Bush was born the 26th day of December in 1970. She became a Christian at London Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church humbly serving as a faithful choir member and later as pianist.
Her school years in West Point School District were filled with learning, love and laughter among her classmates and teachers. Felecia proudly represented her school as a cheerleader, leading as captain during her senior year.
Felecia continued her education at Alcorn State University earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Secondary Education in 1992. While attending the university, she made the choice to pledge the organization exemplifying finer womanhood - Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in the spring of 1990. After graduation, she returned home and taught at her high school alma mater for two years. Relocating to Memphis, TN, she secured a teaching position at Wooddale High School, resulting in teaching upper level mathematics courses in the NASA program. During this time she completed her Masters of Science degree in Education Leadership from the University of Mississippi in 2007. This propelled her career forward with Shelby County Schools into administration serving as Assistant Principal and Instructional Facilitator at Central High School in Memphis, TN.
Felecia was a gifted instructor and administrator to students and teachers at both schools. She poured her tireless energy with words of wisdom and encouragement into her school community inspiring them to reach deep and become best they could be. No matter the age and race of her students, she sincerely felt all parents wanted their children to have the best education possible and encouraged all educators to serve with this in mind.
During her later years, Felecia’s relationship with her Creator grew deeper and stronger, realizing that without Him nothing is possible. She served as Sunday school teacher, served in several ministries for women, married couples, deacon wives, and youth. With her kindness and gentle spirit, she was anointed to counsel and teach women searching for a more meaningful life. Her faith never wavered only growing stronger and deeper. She believed God’s spoken word and His written word, daily confessing God’s word in her life.
After a long journey living with cancer, Felecia peacefully transcended Monday evening. Here to cherish her life is a devoted husband Ramon, a loving daughter Kaitlyn Harrison, her parents C.W. and Mary Lee Witherspoon, two brothers Ricky (Iniece) and Gerald (Barbara) Witherspoon, three sisters Kimberley (Will) Davis, Phonecia Witherspoon , and Anitra Cooper, ten nieces and ten nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
