Obituary for James Paul Kelly, Jr.
James Kelly Jr., 73, passed away suddenly last week in his home in Hernando. He was born in Milan TN and grew up in Memphis, graduating from Southside in 1961. He was proud of the Sharpshooter rifle designation he earned in the Army. He was a lifelong Cardinals baseball fan and loved everything about cars.
James was preceded in death by his parents Avonelle and James and his ex-wife Vernita. He’s survived by his son Paul, grandsons Brendan and Grant, sisters Dee Yarbrough and Barbara Clifton, and brother Danny Todd.
Family and friends are invited to a service this Friday at 1:00 pm; Serenity Funeral Home, 1638 Sycamore View. A gathering will be 2:00-4:00 pm at Amerigo’s restaurant, 1239 Ridgeway. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Mid-South Food Bank. Please leave condolences at serenityfuneralandcremationmemphis.com.
