Obituary for John David Alexander
John Alexander of Lakeland, Tennessee, departed this life on January 25, 2022, at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of over 37 years, Nancy Alexander; his sister, Bobbie Ricketts; his brother, Paul Alexander (Teresa); his sons, David Alexander (Elizabeth), and Scott Alexander; his daughters, Stephanie Louden (Roger), Deborah Zeman (Kevin), Dawn Cox (Gary), Dana Mullins (Rich), and Dianne McCaulla (Bo), and his 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Boone Alexander; his father, John Westbrook Alexander; and his sister, Barbara McPhail.
Mr. Alexander was a Volvo Master Technician and owner of The Swedish Solution, Inc., which he and his wife operated for twenty-eight years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, listening to music, and watching sports. He was known for going above and beyond to help others any way he could. He also loved eating desserts and was even given the title “The Banana Split Man” at The Silver Caboose restaurant in Collierville, Tennessee.
The visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Faith Baptist Church, 3755 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee, with the memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m. The memorial service will be live-streamed and archived at www.myfaithbaptist.org. A brief graveside service will follow at Memphis Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee.
