Obituary for Len Earl "Ba" Reynolds
Len Earl "Ba" Reynolds, 70, passed away November 22, 2020.

Len Earl "Ba" Reynolds, the fourth of eight children born to the late, Percine Reynolds and the late, Julia Clark Reynolds, departed this life on Sunday, November 22, 2020, following an extended illness. He was 70 years old.

The lifelong Memphian and Orange Mound Community resident was a proud member of the Melrose High School Class of 1968. Len Earl made friends easily throughout his primary and secondary school careers, and he maintained many of those friendships for life.

After high school, Len Earl developed a number of talents which prompted employment opportunities. He became a truck driver whose routes reflected consistent high performance and customer satisfaction. He followed instructions given by his late beloved mother to become a cook whose recipes were relished almost as much as hers. Shadowing his late father, he also learned to repair cars and trucks; many neighbors, relatives and friends eventually contracted his auto mechanic skills.

While Len Earl maintained a slate of diverse employment skills, enabling him to cross paths with many people, he possessed one trait which made him legendary in Orange Mound - bowling. For years, bowlers at Cherokee Bowling Lanes admired, celebrated, feared, and envied his constant winning streaks in bowling games and tournaments. He enjoyed the frequently spirited competition, along with the bragging rights associated with winning. He always displayed good sportsmanship, and his distinctive charisma often softened the agony of defeat for his competitors.

Len Earl was raised in a Christian household and began his walk with the Lord during his youth. At the time of his demise, he was a member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church-Barron.

Besides his parents, Len Earl was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Reynolds and Robert Reynolds.

Survivors include: his wife of 15 years, Caveta Jones Reynolds; his daughter, Shandrika (Antonio) Guy; three sisters, Julia (Johnny) Brumley, Dorothy McKinney and Segretta Sims; four brothers, Curtis (Cynthia) Reynolds, Percelle (Beverly) "Bubba" Reynolds, Dennis (Barbara) Reynolds and Paul (Mona) Reynolds; one granddaughter, Jasmine Fields; one great-grandson, Kingston Fields, along with a host of nieces, nephews, additional relatives and friends. Len Earl brought life and laughter to any gathering and will be sorely missed. May he rest eternally in God's abiding love and peace.
