Linda Faye Thomas-Bass was born April 6, 1967, she transitions to her heavenly home on September 9, 2022. Linda was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Willie Lee Davis and J.T. Thomas. She was the middle child, among her two sisters.

Linda was raised in Chicago, IL and lived in San Clemente, CA and later made her home in Memphis, TN. There she met and married the love of her life James Bass. The two were a well-oiled machine. James loved her to the very end, and helped her raise her four children Latoyia, Andre Jr., Kyle and Kyla. Linda was effortlessly devoted to all her children and had a special way of making them feel special and deeply loved.

Linda was baptized at an early age by Rev. Hill at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, in Chicago, IL. She had a strong and deep love for God, and placed her full faith in him until the end. She lived her life in a way that God would be well pleased and say “My child you are home, come on in”.

Linda attended Harlem High School and later received her Bachelor’s degree from ITT Technical Institute. There she developed her computer and IT skills. She was a quick learner and became a computer whiz. Her skills helped her become a great asset at her place of employment Hilton Hotel. She was a devoted worker, helpful friend and dearly loved employee.

Linda was passionate and enthusiastic about everything she did. Everything was done in order and with precision. Unlike the rest of her family, she was not only on time, but she was always early. She had a special warmth and genuine kindness that made you feel and know you were loved. Her warm smile and kindheartedness will forever be remembered by all.

Linda affectionately known as Lin-Lin lived by a schedule and would always say “Let me check my calendar, Ok I’m good that day”. If heaven doesn’t have a calendar or schedule, They Do Now!

Linda loved to travel and take cruises. Her great organizational skills made her the master itinerary planner. She took great care and looked after her family even on her sickbed, she was dishing out orders and maintaining her household.

Linda’s greatest love of all was the joy of family. Words can’t describe how much she loved her husband, children, parents, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Oh, how she loved her beautiful grandchildren, their bond will never be broken! She had a personal relationship with each one Kanye (Latoyia); Demario (Andre); Adre’a (Andre) and even got the chance to meet and instantly fall in love with the newest addition to the family Izabella (Latoyia).

Linda was so warm and open-hearted; she treated her niece and nephews like they were her own. Da’Shun, Khristina, De’Aric (Scooter), and Christopher knew they were loved and will forever cherish their beautiful memories of their beloved aunt and friend.

Linda was also a Great-Aunt and had a bond which was unmatched and simply spectacular to watch with her sister Rita’s grandkids, not to mention their favorite anytime babysitter.

Latoyia, Andre Jr. (AJ), Kyle and Kyla will no doubt forever be indebted to their mom for her love, words of wisdom, self-sacrificing spirit and heartfelt desire to be the best mom she could be.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving mother Willie Lee Davis.

Linda leaves to cherish her loving memory Husband James Bass, Memphis, TN, Father J.T. Thomas, Chicago, IL ; Sisters: Rita Renee, Memphis, TN; Mila Monique (Christopher) Savoy, IL; Children: Latoyia Tie’ra, Andre Banton Jr. (Natalie), Kyle Sherrod, and Kyla LaFaye, Grandchildren: Kanye, Demario, Adre'a and Izabella; Niece and Nephews Da’Shun (Miranda) Khristina (Patrick) and De’Aric “Scooter” and Christopher Jr.; Grand Nieces and Nephews Anyia, Boston, Mariyah, Zara, J’eyzu, Havier and D’Angelo; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
