Obituary for Marcia H. Federman
Our beloved Marcia H. Federman peacefully passed away on January 18, 2018. Known for always having a smile, wonderful welcome and quest for adventure, Marcia was born in Hartford, CT on September 6, 1922. She had been a long time resident of New York City and as of late also domiciled in Draper, UT and Memphis, TN. Marcia was loved and admired by all who met her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Leo Herrup; and sister, Irma Schoen (Gil).
Survivors include sons, Michael, Peter (Katharine), Charles (Bonnie) and Bill (Tammy); grandchildren, Piera, Peter, Eric, Rebecca, Shira, Samantha, Max and Barak "Bear"; step grandchild, Amanda (Marko); great step grandchildren, Savannah; and Scarlet; sister, Grace Hoff; and extended relatives including those from the Ackerman, Baack, Browder, Brown, da Ponte, Gilbreath, Hoff, Klingler/Shelton, Lacks and Leavesley families, among others.
Marcia was active in numerous charitable and social organizations including the Dobbs Ferry and national Woman's clubs, B'nai B'rith, Riverdale Temple Sisterhood and Nichibei Fujinkai
Until her retirement, Marcia worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Celebrations of Marcia's long, happy and giving life are planned on January 21 at Memphis, TN; and on January 28 at the Riverdale Temple, Bronx, NY. Internment is to be on February 4 at the Beth Israel Hartford Cemetery, Hartford, CT.
Thanks are extended to all of her caretakers and companions including Gloria, Indie and Ashley and those at Foxbridge Assisted Living.
