Obituary for Mary Lee Field
Mrs. Mary Greer-Field was born in Moscow, Tennessee, on April 12, 1925, to Arthur Luellen and Mrs. Ella Kirkwood. She accomplished her journey when her immortal spirit rose to its resting place on Friday, May 8, 2015. Mrs. Mary Field was the younger of two children. Her sibling preceded her in death. She met, accepted, and developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior at a tender age.
Mary attended New Zion School in Moscow, Tennessee, and Collierville Junior High. After school, Mary married Shirley Greer in 1943. She was the mother of eighteen children of which she reared sixteen to be adults. Two died as infants and one a toddler. Her life took off in many directions when she started caring for her family.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories: five sons, Marvin, Guylon, Shirley Jr., James Lavell, Ronnie; eight daughters, Mary Alice, Linda, Yolanda, Margaret, Geneva, Juanita, Diane, and Rose Marie; forty-five grandchildren; great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Haywood and James Earl, a daughter, Shirley; her sister, Rose Ella Lambert, and nine half-sisters, Ida Reeves, Ronnie, Larky Lofties, Anner Mae Isom, Ophelia McFaden, Ressie Lee Greer, Rossetta Slay, Dorothy Bullock, Aidelaide Ragland, Ethel Taylor; two half-brothers, Artha Luellen and Eddie Luellen, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Friday, May 15, 2015, and Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 all at Serenity Funeral Home, 1638 Sycamore View Rd.
Burial in Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery.
