Melvin was born on January 7, 1975, to Catherine Myles Thomas and the late Frank Lester Thomas in Chicago, Illinois. Melvin attended Christian Fenger High School in Chicago, Illinois. Melvin was a resident of Tempe, Arizona where he worked at Covalence Laboratories.
Preceding him in death was his father, Frank Lester Thomas, Grandmothers, Estella Brown Nichols, and Daisy Mitchell. Aunts: Bobbie L. Ford, Lee Ella Brown, Evelyn Faye Redmond, Jacqueline Sanders, Georgia Washington, Betty J. Myles, Uncle: Joe C. Brown, and cousin: Akii Bua Lamon Washington.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Mother, Catherine Myles Thomas of Memphis, TN; Sister, Tammy Myles of Atlanta, GA; Three Children: Sari and Cameron Myles of Phoenix, AZ and Xavier Smith of Chicago, IL.; Two Nieces: Tauncia and Chantiscia Myles of Minneapolis, MN; One Nephew, Jonathan Myles of Atlanta, GA and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
