Shamon Dontae’ Lancaster was born to Shanika Nicole Brown and Montez Lancaster in Belleville, ILL. At the tender age of four months, through God’s grace, love, and mercy, Shamon was blessed to be raised by his grandfather Mr. Jerome McGee and his dad Mr. Gene Cosey.
Shamon confessed his life and love for Christ at an early age.
Shamon attended Memphis City Schools. He also briefly attended the Clark County Schools system in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shamon left an indelible impression on those he came in contact with.
His hobbies consisted of fixing things such as cell phones, tablets, and computers which he loved doing in spite of his medical disabilities.
At the time of his death, he was employed at Amazon. Shamon leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Shanika Nicole Brown and his father Montez Lancaster, great grandmother Mary Riley, grandparents Adrian Brown, Jerome McGee, Precynthia Lancaster and dad, Gene Cosey, sisters Jailynn Brown and Lenita Trotter-White, brothers James Rodger, Josiah Brown, and Jordan Brown and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Herschel Riley, grandparents Gene and Ella Cosey, and niece Theodoria Cosey.
Shamon’s favorite food was ramen noodles, gram crackers, and Oreo cookies and later when he thought he was cool, he went from Shamon to being better known as “AJ” to his friends.
Shamon was a challenging individual with high energy and an inquisitive mind. He lived between two homes each of which was his safe haven and was a safe place to fall. His multiple diagnosis although challenging, contributed to his skill and proficiency in technology.
