Obituary for Viller Arletta Davis
Viller Arletta Davis, age 77, died December 10, 2020.
On April 28, 1943, Viller Arletta Davis “Ville” was born to the late Hosea and Luedna Maclin-Williams. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age, was baptized in the Holy Spirit at Pentecostal Temple by Bishop J.O. Patterson, and since then served God everyday of her life by mentoring, ministering and touching the lives of many people through her spiritual gift of evangelism that God blessed her with over the years.
Viller’s evangelistic work was honored and acknowledged over the years beginning when she and her family moved from Mason, Tennessee where she joined Tucker’s Temple under the leadership of Elder Charles Tucker. She faithfully attended Greater Faith Cathedral in Christ Church under the leadership of her nephew, Pastor Eddie R. Jackson and worked tirelessly with various religious institutions to spread the Word of God everywhere she went.
During her 77 years on earth, Viller was known for singing, traveling, inspiring others with her infectious smile, working as a culinary preparation employee with Memphis City Schools and as a retail employee with Sears Roebuck & Company, but most importantly as a dedicated wife to Minister Aubrey Davis. The two remained married until he proceeded her in death.
One of Viller’s memorable gifts was loving her family, neighbors, friends and those around her. She played an instrumental role in the lives of her nephews, nieces, sisters(in-laws), brothers(in-law) and a host of spiritual children.
Viller’s colorful memory will be remembered by her beloved bother, Julian C. Williams (Eunice), a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, sister-in-laws, brother-in-law, uncles, aunts and supportive neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by Elizabeth Beard, Booker T. Williams, Robert Williams, James L. Williams, John W. Williams, James A. Williams, Vivian Jackson, Dimple Lucious, Kemp Williams, Issac Williams and Willie “Butch” Williams.
