Willie Lee Finnie, age 68, died August 24, 2016.
Willie Lee “Duke” Finnie was born August 11, 1948 to Bruce and Veller Finnie in Memphis, TN. He attended Kansas Elementary and later attended Carver High School. Shortly after high school, he joined the United States Army. He worked for the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Seagram’s Gin Inc. and the Army Depot.
Willie departed this life on August 24, 2016, at Parkway Health & Rehab Center in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Bruce and Veller Finnie; three brothers, Robert Finnie, John W. Finnie, and Larry Finnie; two sisters, Louise Finnie and Deloris Summers; and a daughter, Sherita Finnie. He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Terini Finnie and LaShondra Finnie of Memphis; one brother, David Finnie of Memphis; five sisters, Henrietta Ross, Mary Martin and Clara Peyton, all of Memphis, Linda Faye “Tina” Finnie of San Diego, California and Earline Hardin of Wisconsin; one uncle, Willie B. London of Detroit, Michigan; and one aunt, Dorothy London of Memphis; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
