Obituary for Zaundra Gibson Killebrew
Ms. Zaundra Gibson Killebrew was born on March 9, 1961, in Memphis, Tennessee to the proud parents of Wilora Gibson and the late Jack C. Gibson.
She departed this life on January 12, 2017, peacefully at her mother’s home, under the care of hospice and surrounded by her family after a two year battle with cancer. She accepted Christ at an early age and always had a close relationship with God throughout her battle with cancer.
Ms. Killebrew attended Westwood High School and Rhodes College, where she studied Communications. Zaundra always had a passion for the trucking industry. She was the CEO and founder of KDM Logistics and several other business ventures throughout her life. She remained loyal and devoted to the transportation industry until her health began to fail.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Aaron Killebrew (Kathy) on March 22, 1986. They were the proud parents of one daughter, Aariel Z. Killebrew. This union was officiated at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church by Rev. Doctor James L. Netters.
Her hobbies included playing various games, listening to all types of music, and entertaining friends. She was also a lover of sports, especially football. She leaves a legacy of trying to make sure others’ needs were met before hers. She always expressed love and care for her family, especially her daughter who she would often refer to as her Pride and Joy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack C. Gibson and her grandparents. Her memories will always be cherished by her devoted daughter, Aariel Z. Killebrew; her mother, Wilora Gisbon; one sister, Vicki Gibson; two loving nieces, Janica Gibson Sumler and Janila Gibson Campbell; and a great niece, Jamya Gibson Huggins; one aunt, Constance Jamerson; two uncles, James Nesbitt and Paul Morful; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
